Leveraging robotic fabrication, 3D printing, and mass-customization, the project envisions new urban typologies for traditional Lilong housing in Shanghai. Programatically and spatially complex neighborhoods, buildings, and infrastructures are derived from programmatic requirements, material characteristics, and digital fabrication protocols.
